課程概述 |
如課程標題我們將細讀柏拉圖的 Theaetetus 對話。若有時間，將進一步討論他與後人知識論討論之關聯。
The title of the seminar is self-explanatory. Our discussion of the topic proceeds through a careful reading of Plato’s Theaetetus. If time permits, there will be a brief survey of the reception of the dialogue in later discussions in epistemology.

課程目標 |
一、熟悉西方哲學史上開知識論先河的最重要文本之一。
二、訓練注疏/詮釋哲學史文本的基本研究功底。
三、透過例行作業學習「主動閱讀」的習慣。
四、在課堂上練習口說表達思想與聆聽的集中力。
Students who successfully carry out the course requirements will:
(a) Have a decent understanding of one of the foundational texts in Western epistemology.
(b) Acquire the basic skills of commentary/exegesis on philosophical texts.
(c) Cultivate the habit of "active reading" through the short paper assignments.
(d) Practice expressing complete ideas orally and expanding attention span in attending our meetings.
